1- Tell us About Yourself

I am an accounting technician and owner of AL Service Comptable.

2- Where Does Your Interest in Accounting Come From?

As far back as I can remember, I always was good at mathematics. It seemed to be the right path for me.

In 2012, I decided to take accounting training, and since day 1, I knew I had made the right decision.

3- How Did You Become Self-Employed?

I worked for many businesses and accounting firms, but with Asperger syndrome, it is not very easy.

In 2019, I met my bosses three times to explain that I had too much work and could not do my job. Since nothing changed, I had to quit to save my health. It was the perfect occasion to start my own business.

4- What Is the Most Challenging Part of Self-Employment?

The most challenging part still today is to set my boundaries. I always want to give more to my clients, answer their questions on evenings and weekends, offer free advice. I enjoy helping my clients, but often it is too much.

5- Which Part of Being Self-Employed Do You Like the Most?

Freedom! With a husband who works night shifts during the winter, it allows us to see each other more.

6- Tell Us About Your Work Routine.

I wake up, make myself a cup of coffee, and go to my office.

I always start by answering emails, and then I start my projects.

7- What Are the Online Tools You Could Not Live Without?

For follow-ups with my clients and time tracker: Momenteo!

8- How Did You Learn About Momenteo, and How Long Have You Been Using It?

I discovered it on a Facebook group, and I have been using it since December 2021.

9- What Makes Momenteo Different from Other Accounting Programs?

I use Momenteo for its time tracker and my invoicing. It simplifies my life! I always forgot to send invoices to my client, and now I even have a confirmation that my client received and opened the invoice.

10- How Did You Find Your First Customers?

My first clients insisted on following me when I quit my job. I was fortunate.

11- What Are Your Tips for Someone Who Would Like to Get Into Freelance?

Surround yourself with the right people. Find a trustworthy accountant before starting your business. I often see stressed people because they did not consult an accountant.

12- What Would You Say to Someone Who Would Like to Use the Services of an accounting technician?

Find a trustworthy accountant. When we talk about money, it often is a delicate topic.

13- What Are You Most Proud of About Being a Self-Employed Worker?

What makes me the proudest is when clients reach and exceed their expectations.

14- Do You Have any Big Plans for This Summer?

Since my busiest period is from November to April, I think about taking REAL holidays this summer instead of starting on new projects.
